Oct 8, 2019 DAY 1

Welcome to Barcelona. We suggest arriving before 3PM so you don’t miss out on our welcome reception at the hotel at

7 PM.

If you would like to arrive the day before, please let us know. We can arrange extra days on either end of your trip. A driver will pick you up at the airport and you’ll arrive at the Hotel Catalonia Plaza (****) Hotel.

Once you’re settled, we will convene outside for a welcome reception with your host Chef Jose. We will kick off our 5th year in Barcelona!

Jose recommends a stroll around the city at night and a nightcap at Quimet Quimet.

Oct 9, 2019 DAY 2

Our hotel offers a beautiful breakfast every day featuring a huge Catalan bounty with excellent jamon, smoked salmon, Spanish tortilla, the freshest fruit, and great coffee. But you don't want to get too full, though.  Leave yourself time to digest for a very special afternoon.

In the afternoon we will learned the secrets of Jamon Iberico as we take a  Master Class on Iberic Ham.

Later, our first dinner will be at DISFRUTAR. Acclaimed  restaurant from the chefs who cooked at El Bulli for 10+ years.  Reservations can be over a year out for this prized experience, and we've got your ticket in!   José will order a full complement of dishes for the complete DISFRUTAR (2 michelin stars).  We think you'll be knocked out in your first 48 hours of imbibing in Barcelona!  That's our plan.

Oct 10, 2019 DAY 3

We’ll start the day mid-morning as we drive to Juvé & Camps Cava for a tour, tasting, and lunch. When we come back to the city the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Our hotel is just a few blocks from the Museum of Joan Miró or enjoy a stroll alongside Montjuic, a beautiful hill overlooking the Barcelona harbor.  We also suggest you jump on the open air tourist bus to take in this beautiful city.  Or some time at the pool to relax and really catch up on your jet lag.

Later in the evening, we'll enjoy dinner at one of Jose's favorites.  We prefer to leave some spots unnamed so you may enjoy some surprises.

Oct 11, 2019 DAY 4

You have all morning available to explore the city on your own, maybe a morning walk by the Passeig de Gracia, the 5th Avenue of Barcelona, where you'll also find two iconic Gaudi buildings, Casa Mila and Casa Batllo but be sure to meet us at noon as we get ready for what many on our tours have cited as "the best meal they've ever had".  And today is a day that Chef José cherishes more than any other; a venture an hour northeast of Barcelona through the countryside to a place where Jose worked long ago with one of his early mentors, Can Jubany(1 Michelin star).

We will meet Chef Nandu Jubany and his family, and tour the farm that supplies the produce for many of the dishes you’ll savor. After a long meal, we will return and your evening is free to digest and reflect on what just took place.

Oct 12, 2019 DAY 5

The word of the day will be traditional.

We will walk around the city until we have a choice between two of Barcelona's beloved bars, Bar Cañete or Ca I'lsidre where we will enjoy classic Catalan cuisine and service. The rest of the day is OFF, open for you to enjoy exploring the city. Feel free to ask Jose for recommendations!

Oct 13, 2019 DAY 6

Midday, we'll head down to the Platja de la Nova Icària, a beautiful beach to enjoy a fantastic Catalan meal featuring some of the best paella available in Barcelona.  We'll enjoy excellent seafood and get to see another side of the city, overlooking the sparkling Balearic Sea.  Bring your towel if you'd like to stay afterward and take in the sun.

We'll enjoy a delicious, casual dinner again at another gem.  Remember, Jose does all the ordering, so you can relax and have some great chef's faves and really enjoy the experience our host wants to share with you.

Oct 14, 2019 DAY 7

Today we will begin our day with a casual breakfast at The Boqueria, as we enjoy a stroll and watch the market come alive. We will retreat to a private space overlooking La Rambla, where we will meet one of Barcelona’s favorite chefs, Oscar Manresa. He will escort us back down to the market for a real treat. We will shop with him in preparation for a demonstration and lunch we will enjoy--and experience you wouldn't be able to secure yourself. See something interesting that you’ve never had before? He may just buy some and prepare it for you.  We'll also have some surprise visits in the Boqueria for some delicious appetizers and sips before our lunch.

Later in the evening, we'll enjoy dinner at one of Jose's favorites.  We prefer to leave some spots unnamed so you may enjoy some surprises. Meet us at the hotel at 7 PM to go see a different side of the city at night and do palmas at a Flamenco Show.

Oct 15, 2019 DAY 8

AM: Adios! We'll bid farewell to Barcelona, as all great things come to an end, or you may continue your adventure on your own,  wherever your journey next takes you. Buen viaje!
